About us

The Purpose of the Corporation is the promotion of social, economic and civic welfare and development of the Attawapiskat First Nation by:

01 Statement of Purpose

Promoting, acquiring, developing and establishing works and facilities of any manner or nature for the provision, acquisition, transmission, distribution and supply of electricity to the community of Attawapiskat First Nation and elsewhere

02 Statement of Purpose

Constructing, operating, maintaining and managing such works and facilities for the general benefit and purpose of providing electrical power to the community of the Attawapiskat First Nation and elsewhere;

03 Statement of Purpose

Through the accomplishment of the purpose described in paragraphs 1 and 2, encouraging and promoting self-sufficiency, skills training, employment and economic development opportunities, community cooperation, measures to improve the protection of the natural environment and such other measures socially beneficial for the community as may accrue from the corporations' purposes and undertakings, in the community of the Attawapiskat First Nation and elsewhere.
